Christian Louboutin’s lawyers are doubling down on their commitment to fight the unpopular ruling this week that will allow competitors to copy the brand’s trademark red soles.
“3 guys, 44 days, 11 countries, 18 flights, 38 thousand miles, an exploding volcano, 2 cameras and almost a terabyte of footage… all to turn 3 ambitious linear concepts based on movement, learning and food ….into 3 beautiful and hopefully compelling short films…..= a trip of a lifetime.”

We’ve been seeing some amazing decor ideas on Ohgle, and they’re making us even more excited about a new show airing on Bravo tonight. Million Dollar Decorators (ok, the name is kind of lame) follows a group of really talented, high-end interior decorators as they create their masterpieces and deal with demanding clients. After perusing their portfolios, we can’t wait for the decor eye candy that’s bound to be on display.
When the subjects of a reality show are creative geniuses, it’s just like watching something educational right? ;)
It’s no secret that we have a major thing for up-and-coming creative talent, so we’re really pumped that Gen Art, an organization dedicated to supporting emerging talent, is back in action after a little recession reset. Over its 16 year history, Gen Art has helped catapult the film, fashion, art, and music careers of talent like Zac Posen, Phillip Lim, Ryan McGuiness, Imogen Heap, MGMT, and many more.
They also know how to throw a great party, and they’re kicking off their comeback with
the Gen Art Film Festival (June 8-14), a week of seven red carpet premieres and seven sweet after parties.
This year’s films include performances by rising stars such as Zoe Kravitz, Dan Byrd, Emily Van Camp, and Gabourey Sidibe - as well as veteran actors such as Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly, Harvey Keitel, Pierce Brosnan, and Marisa Tomei.

We were recently reminded of this great documentary that was released last year. It includes some really interesting thoughts about what makes someone an influencer. What do you think? Who influences you and why?
(In the occasional “We Drank the Kool-Aid” post, we will be declaring our unabashed love of something pop)
Say what you will about Taylor Swift, but one thing can’t be denied - she keeps it real. Some criticize the simplicity of her lyrics, but if you think about it, the truth is usually pretty simple. She doesn’t seem to filter or embellish, and that kind of honesty is pretty much always inspirational. On Friday she debuted a new video for her single Mean, and it’s both a frank response to all the haters she’s had over the years and a great statement of support for fans that are dealing with bullies. Check it out - we dare you not to get it stuck in your head.
Chucking it all and moving to another country for the love of your life is obviously inspirational. What’s even more inspirational? Finding creative ways to stay connected to your passions, no matter how far away they may seem. That’s what Kelli, author of The Fashion Worshiper did. After moving to Ontario to be with her husband, and finding that she wasn’t interacting with very many people who shared her love of fashion, she took matters into her own hands and started her blog as a sort of fashion life-line. Says Kelli, “My blog has allowed me to connect with people that love fashion as much as I do from all over the world.”
Her other life-lines? Her daily blog reads include StyleScrapbook, Afterdrk, & Fashion Toast, and she definitely couldn’t go without staples like InStyle, Vogue, & Harper’s Bazaar.
